To further enhance detection, YouTube will introduce new internal signals to automatically identify content created using AI. Although creators are already mandated to manually disclose the use of realistic AI, this automated system will help apply labels to videos with “significant photorealistic AI use,” mitigating instances where manual disclosure might be overlooked. However, there are exceptions, as labels for content created with YouTube’s proprietary AI tools like Veo or Dream Screen, or content with C2PA metadata indicating full generative AI, will remain permanent and cannot be altered by creators.
